Tag
A tag question is a special construction in English. It is a statement followed by a mini-question. The whole sentence is a "tag question", and the mini-question at the end is called a "Question tag". दिलेल्या विधानाला त्या विधानाच्या मदतीने त्याचे खरेखोटेपणा पडताळणीसाठी जो संक्षिप्त प्रश्न जोडतात,त्यालाच पृछाप्रश्न (Question tag )असे म्हणतात.

1)
प्रथम वाक्य जसेच्या तसे लिहितात.
2)
त्यानंतर स्वल्पविराम देतात.
3)
त्यानंतर वाक्यातील सहयाकारी क्रियापद
लिहितात.
साह्यकारी क्रियापद नसल्यास- do does (साधा वर्तमानकाळ) did (साधा भूतकाळ)
4)
वाक्य होकारार्थी असल्यास स.क्रियापदात
not मिळवितात आणि वाक्य नकारर्थी असल्यास not जोडू नये.
5)
त्यानंतर वाक्याचा कर्ता पुरुषवाचक
स्वरुपात लिहितात.
6)
शेवटी प्रश्नचिन्ह देतात.

b) Let’s= let us च्या वाक्याचा question tag – shall we?
e.g. Let us play
cricket.

us play cricket, shall we?
c) Imperative Sentence आज्ञार्थी वाक्याचा question tag- will you?
e.g. Obey the elders.
®Obey
the elders, will you?
d) वाक्यात Everyone,Everybody-
असेल तर They (subject-कर्ता ) वापरावे.
e.g. Everyone clapped.
®
Everyone clapped, didn’t they?
e) Contracted forms:- (संक्षिप्त रूपे)
Is+not= isn’t were+not= weren’t are+not= aren’t
Have+not= haven’t was+not=wasn’t has+not=hasn’t
Shall+not= shan’t can +not=can’t may+not=mayn’t
